The Ledger Live application can be installed and used simultaneously on multiple devices, such as computers, smartphones, or a mix of both. However, in order to do that, your accounts and settings need to be set up on each device.
This is an easy process but depending on the number of accounts you have, it may take some time. So, if you want to figure out how to add your version of Ledger Live on a different computer, follow along.
Because each installation of Ledger Live is independent, your accounts, password, and settings are stored locally on your computer or smartphone.
Ledger Live only updates operation history and balance, hence any local changes in your settings, favorite accounts, and account names are not synchronized. These can be customized each time you install and update an instance of Ledger Live. Here’s how you can do that.
Download and install the latest version of Ledger Live.
Choose Skip device setup in the menu Set up Ledger Live with your device. You should already have set up your Ledger device the first time you installed Ledger Live.
Now, that you have the Ledger Live desktop, add your accounts as follows.
Step #1. On the left panel, click on Accounts.
Step #2. Click the Add account button.
Step #3. Type or click the drop-down list to choose the crypto asset of the account to add. Click Continue.
Step #4. Connect and unlock your device, open the app, then click Continue. Ledger Live will look for existing accounts in the blockchain. These are then displayed one by one.
Step #5. In the Accounts step, different sections can appear:
In the Select existing accounts, section accounts are shown that already have blockchain transactions. Add a checkmark to the account(s) to add and choose a name for them.
In the Add new account section, you can add a new account by adding a checkmark. This is not possible when the last created account of that crypto asset has not received a transaction yet.
The Accounts already in Portfolio section lists the accounts that are already in Portfolio and thus can not be added.
Step #6. Click Continue. Your account(s) will be added to the Portfolio.
Step #7. Click Add more to continue adding accounts. Otherwise, close the Add accounts window.
